The family of Virginia “Ginger” Clarke Liera is deeply saddened to announce her passing on October 6th 2026 in Temecula, CA. She was 91 years old and a resident of the Cahuilla Indian Reservation. Ginger was born on May 4th 1935 to Jane Lubo Clarke and Lloyd Clarke. She was a member of the Cahuilla Band of Indians and was raised on the Cahuilla Indian Reservation with her parents and siblings. Ginger lived a full and loving life who touched the hearts of everyone she met. Ginger was a kind, thoughtful and strong person, who never forgot to send a birthday card. She knew every cow in the family herd and made sure they were well taken care of. Everyone looked forward to her macaroni salad and warm presence at her family’s annual “round up”. She was a wonderful mother to her son, “Punky,” and a loving wife.

Ginger is survived by her sister, Patricia Liera and her many nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her husband Jose “Joe” Liera, their son Joseph “Punky” Liera, her brother Gerald Clarke Sr., her sister Prudence Ramos and her parents.

Her Rosary will take place on October 16th 2026 from 6 – 8pm at Hemet Affordable Burial and Cremation in Hemet, CA. Funeral services will take place at 10am at Our Lady of the Snows church on the Cahuilla Reservation.
